9/28/2017 0 Comments photoshop one - Pop ARtFor this assignment we had to work with different aspects of photoshop. We had to work with filters, guides, resizing the canvas, threshold dialog, and also moving layers. For the first picture, we were assigned to use a picture of ourselves (original at the bottom of the page), and for the second we could use any picture we wanted. For the second picture, I decided to use a picture of my miniature horse, Sunny. Overall I enjoyed this project a lot because I like working with different settings in photoshop (even though this was my first time actually using it) and also working with computers. Overall, I really enjoyed this assignment because I got to learn how to use photoshop to a better extent. Using the different settings really helped to to understand the process and doing to different pop arts also helped me a lot. I didn't find this assignment very difficult because I really enjoy working on computers and the instructions were very in depth. Below is my actual picture that I used for the first assignment. In the end, I really enjoyed this assignment and I learned so much more about photoshop then I originally did.

9/26/2017 0 Comments Inspiration postFor my first shooting assignment I decided to focus on animals. These two pictures that I have chosen I believe encompass what a good animal picture should be. From this assignment I hope to learn how to photograph my animals better and also work on shutter speed when working with motion. Some of the pictures I found that I will use for inspiration are: I think that these are good examples of animals that I will use for insertion for this shooting assignment one. Some of the animals are moving, and also some are still. I think that experimenting with moving and non-moving objects will help me improve my sills of controlling shutter speed and aperture. I hope to take some interesting photos for this assignment. 9/25/2017 0 Comments Shutter speed + ApertureFor this assignment we had to take photos using various aperture and shutter speed. Before this assignment I had heard of shutter speed and aperture, however, I was not sure of what they are. After taking notes on the subjects and practicing on various subjects we improved our skills and learned more information on the subject. I choose to photograph my sister, Leah, for shutter speed; and some Christmas lights in the Small Hornet Hub (Writing Center). Shutter Speed First Photo: Shutter Speed- 1/4, Aperture - 4.0, ISO 80 Second Photo: Shutter Speed- 1/20, Aperture - 2.8, ISO 80 Third Photo: Shutter Speed- 1/40, Aperture - 2.8, ISO 80 Fourth Photo: Shutter Speed- 1/80, Aperture - 2.8, ISO 80 Aperture Fifth Photo: Shutter Speed- 1/10, Aperture - 3.2, ISO 80 Sixth Photo: Shutter Speed- 1/5, Aperture - 4.5, ISO 80 Seventh Photo: Shutter Speed- .6, Aperture - 7.1, ISO 80 Eighth Photo: Shutter Speed- .6, Aperture - 8.0, ISO 80 In the end, I learned that I should focus on what should be blurred and what shouldn't, and now I know how to do that for next time. Also, when dealing with different shutter speed sometimes it is easier (and looks better) to use a tripod, which we did not have. Overall I learned much, much more about the camera I was using and also about shutter speed and aperture.
9/18/2017 1 Comment Elements of compositionFor this assignment we had to photograph multiple different elements including; color, rule of thirds, pattern, symmetry, texture, depth of field, lines, framing, perspective (my personal favorite), balance, and space. We discovered many new aspects of this school when we were searching to find new items to take pictures of. Before going out to take pictures, we took notes on the various types of elements and also learned more about the types of cameras we are using, how lenses work, and also some basic functions of the camera. (From left to right; first six photographs are composition one, the next five pictures are composition two) Depth, lines, pattern, rule of thirds, symmetry, texture, frame, perspective, space, balance, and color. What I learned: In this assignment I learned the basic functions of the camera I used and also how the lens worked. We used the different elements to capture various pictures to help change how we normally take photographs. Also, we used the elements of composition to help inspire new photographs which helped us explore the world of photograph to a greater extent. Overall, I think even in this short time period my skills as a photographer have grown a lot.
9/18/2017 0 Comments Introduction postHi, my name is Lauren Hyne and I am a sophomore at Saline High School. I currently run on both the cross country and track team, and I previously rode horses before switching sports. My interests include art, debate, and also photography. I took this class because I have taken a digital photography elective at my previous school and I enjoyed it immensely! Both of my parents also enjoy photography but neither do it professionally. In this class I hope to improve my photography skills and become more educated in how various cameras work.
